Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (Masters degree is preferred) with concentration in Structural Engineering, or Engineering Mechanics. 2-5 year work experience in a bridge or structural design engineering position (can be acquired in co-op program or employment experience). E.I.T. certification required. Must have experience working independently on construction and testing oversight, including ensuring on-site design compliance by contractors and coordination/review of construction submittals. Education or experience must include developing structural models with finite element analysis; performing structural design and analysis in both concrete and steel using MathCAD and Excel; seismic analysis; and performing finite element modeling of bridge components for load analysis.
