My client, a large Canadian engineering consulting firm is looking for a Senior Bridge Engineer/Project Manager.
Job Details: we are currently looking for a Senior Bridge Engineer to work as part of a team in the design, development and construction of bridge/structural projects for clients.
Responsibilities:
- Structural design and analysis of bridges and other transportation related structures
- Management of single and multi-discipline structural engineering projects and development of cost-effective design solutions
- Preparation of proposals, design criteria, preliminary designs, detailed engineering specifications, and reports
- Technical guidance and mentoring of project team members including other engineers, and technical support staff
- Liaison with clients, government and regulatory authorities, and contractors
- Development and enhancement of client relationships and business growth.
Requirements:
- A minimum of ten years’ relevant structural design experience, with proven experience in the area of structural design and bridge engineering with a recognized consulting engineering firm.
- Strong communication, report writing, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with relevant structural engineering codes and industry standards
- Superior technical understanding and design abilities.
- Specific areas of expertise required are in the design of bridges of standard and complex geometry, and culverts. A thorough knowledge of current design codes and standards is essential. Experience with bridge condition surveys and construction phase structural liaison would be an asset.
- Working knowledge of computer modeling techniques using SFRAME, STAAD, CANBAS (or similar software), and familiarity with current AutoCAD and building systems software
- Familiarity with computer programs for structural analysis and design would be a requirement
- Must possess a university degree in Civil or Structural engineering and be licensed to practice as a professional engineer in Manitoba, or eligible to be licensed within four months.;
