Chicago Skyway Rehabilitation, City of Chicago, Illinois: Assisted and performed design of superstructure shoring towers for pier cap replacement.
U.S. 131 Michigan Department of Transportation, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Project structural Engineer responsible for the design of various superstructure elements including splices and cross frames. The superstructure consisted of continuous curved plate girders. Design, detail and prepare plans for the rehabilitation of ramp A, B,C and D to Wealthy street including replacement of existing steel connection and expansion joints.

DLZ. South bend, IN : 1998-1999

Southwest Indiana Highway, Indiana Department of Transportation, Indianapolis, Indiana. Project structural Engineer for the development of various design concepts and cost analysis (SST PLANS) for five bridges (mud creek, CR750N, CR475N, sr356 and 650N) along southwest Indiana highway project no. NH-002-2 in pike county Indiana. Grade review plans was prepared for the five bridges. The various superstructure design options involved investigating prestressed 72” bulb Tee, prestressed I beams , plate girders and rolled beams . Mdx program was used to design the steel plate girders and rolled beams.

East-West Toll road Highway Authority ( I-80/90 over SR-1 & County Road 100) , Indiana Toll Road Authority, Indianapolis, Indiana. Project structural Engineer for the development of SST, preliminary and final design of grade review and final plans of superstructure and substructure elements. The superstructure consisted of prestressed concrete I beams with 8” slab. Leap software was used in the design the prestressed beams.


Mcdonough Associates inc. Chicago, IL: 1995-1998

I-55 Stevenson Expressway Reconstruction (TS&L Preliminary and Final Design), Illinois Department of Transportation - District 1, Chicago, Illinois. Project Engineer responsible for the TS&L preliminary and final design and analysis of various steel superstructure and substructure elements for the section from California Ave. to damen Ave including the portion over Archer Ave. It took three years develop the final design plans and specification for the eastbound and westbound structure. Dcalc program was used in the design of the substructure and superstructure. The project also involved designing Retaining walls & drainage structure. Foundation included piling, spread footing and caissons. Removal and construction was performed in stages to accommodate the maintenance of traffic.


Homer l. Chastain & Associates Chicago, IL: 1991-1995

Structural engineer responsible for design, analysis, contract document preparation and specification for the following projects:

Milwaukee District north Line Bridges, Metra Bridge No, A-402 and A-324, Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Alkaraghouli responsible for the design of various elements of the superstructure and substructure. Elements bearings, beam and expansion joints. Inspection of the substructure including shotcreting and epoxy injection of cracks for substructure repair. This project won an ISPE Outstanding Engineering Achievement Award.

I-294 Tri State widening & Rehabilitation (Preliminary & Final Design Contract CIP 663), for the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority, Oakbrook Illinois. Project Engineer responsible for the design of various superstructure and substructure elements and also for the design and analysis of reinforced concrete caissons, columns and pier caps to support the new superstructure. The project extend from Roosevelt Rd. to ST. Charles Rd included eleven bridges and retaining wall on spread footings, caissons and piles. Superstructure design including steel and prestressed girders. Reviewed shop drawings for MSE WALLS. This project won an ISPE Outstanding Engineering Achievement Award.

The abutments are cantilever type and resting on open foundation. The width of carriageway is kept as 7.5m due to space restriction at site. The footpath is provided on outer side of the carriageway.
• Bridge over song distributory: The total span of the bridge is 24.5m. The bridge is having a skew angle of 42o. The superstructure consists of cast-in-situ R.C.C. span. The bearings provided are pot/pot cum PTFE bearings. The abutments are cantilever type and resting on pile foundation. The width of carriageway is kept as 11.0m. The footpath is provided on outer side of the carriageway.
• Bridge over Bindal river: The span arrangement of this bridge is 5 x 9.0m. The superstructure consists of cast-in-situ R.C.C. solid slab. No bearing is provided in this bridge. The pier and abutments are resting on pile foundation. 1.2m diameter piles are provided in the foundation. The width of carriageway is kept as 11.0m. The footpath is provided on outer side of the carriageway.
• Bridge at Ch. 158.3, Bridge at Dulhani Nala, Bridge over Laxman Nala: These bridges has span 10.0m, 2 x 9.0m and 3 x 9.0m respectively. The superstructure consists of cast-in-situ R.C.C. solid slab. No bearing is provided in these bridges. The pier and abutments are resting on open foundation. The width of carriageway is kept as 11.0m. The footpath is provided on outer side of the carriageway.
• Bridge over Song river on NH-72: This bridge is multi-span bridge, which consist of 9 x 30.0m spans. The duty includes the design of well foundation of this bridge. The superstructure consists of precast prestressed post-tensioned concrete girders with deck slab at top. The pier is wall type and cantilever pier cap has been provided.
• Rate analysis and quantity estimation of major bridges, minor bridges and preparation of final bill of quantities.
 Supervising and checking work done by Trainee engineers
• Nala at Ajabpur bypass and Nala at Ch. 158.95: The bridges consist of single cell box culvert. The box culvert has a size of 5.3m x 7.0m. The width of carriageway is kept as 11.0m. The footpath is provided on outer side of the carriageway. The bed protection has been provided on upstream side and downstream side of these bridges.
• Bridge over Jakhan river and Bridge over rispana river: These major bridges consist of three cell box culverts and bridges are multi-span type. The width of carriageway is kept as 11.0m. The footpath is provided on outer side of the carriageway. The bed protection has been provided on upstream side and downstream side of these bridges.

 Preparation of detailed design and drawings of substructure and superstructure of Flyover at Moti Nagar intersection for Municipal Corporation of Delhi. The bridge consists of two continuous approach span of 3 x 18.0 m on each side of obligatory span and simply supported obligatory span of 50.0m. The substructure consists of POT/Pot cum PTFE bearings, cantilever pier cap, circular pier and pile foundation. The design of superstructure includes 3 x 18.0m span, which consist of nine precast post-tensioned girders with cast-in-situ deck slab and cross girder. The design of obligatory span consists of cast-in-situ box girder with post-tensioned cables. The bridge is meant for two lane of carriageway.
 Proof checking for the design and drawings of following bearings for Flyover at Moti Nagar intersection:

The substructure includes design of abutments, which are empty from inside with reinforced earth wall provided at back. The pier is in the form of multiple column with pile foundation.
 Design of superstructure and substructure of ROB on Ludhiana-Ambala section for Punjab Public Works Department (PWD), Punjab. The total length of ROB is 738.0 m with 7.5m carriageway. The design includes continuous R.C.C. solid slab spans of 11.0m, R.C.C. curved slab girder span of 16.5m and simply supported R.C.C. skew slab of span 10.0m. The design of substructure includes Pot/Pot cum PTFE bearings, pier cap, pier and pile foundation.
 Design of typical cast-in-situ post-tensioned boxgirder of span 35.6m and piers for Bridge over Neogal Khad for Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department (HPPWD), Himachal Pradesh. The total length of bridge is 178.0m with 7.5m carriageway.
 Design of post-tensioned prestressed concrete simply supported skew span of length 39.406m for Road over bridge at Butibori for Nagpur-Hyderabad Section. The Span is skew at angle of 62o with traffic direction. The total carriageway width is 9.75m.The superstructure includes six precast post-tensioned girders. Design of substructure includes design of pier and pile foundation for this skew span. The pier is in the form of multiple columns.

 Quantity estimation for tender of R.O.B. at Morinda Bye pass for Punjab Infrastructure Development Board, Punjab. The total length of R.O.B. is 621.0m with 7.5m carriageway width. The R.O.B. is skew at 66o with traffic direction.
