"How do I find the age for a bridge"

Our civic group is interested in the age and replacement (or major maintenance) plans for an Amtrak rotating bridge which goes over Trail Creek in Michigan City, Indiana. Our goal is to establish a transportation hub on the North End of Michigan City in order to promote tourism, commercial, and residential development. Michigan City has many expansion plans that are presently on hold due to economic conditions, but if major repairs or replacement are planned for this Amtrak bridge there may be some federal stimulus funds available.

To know the age of bridge u have to assess its condition e.g. extent of corrosion at critical locations , bents, distortions, pitting etc. Possibility of reuse will depend on the type of use intended with respect to design loads.

Its said to be similar to the Spuyten Duyvil Bridge which appears to have been built around 1899, so is probably a similar age. I also found this information from Amtrak from an internet search. Maybe Amtrak will give you more information if you contact them directly?
