"Temporary support for old bridge"

Any sugestions on the best way to create a temporary support for a gravity arch stone bridge. The goal is to prevent the structure from collapsing untill it can be reaired.

Hi,
What did you come up with?
I've seen high-load lally columns used for this before, but what was your solution? What weight load were you trying to compensate for (people, cars, heavy trucks, etc?)
