"3D parametric modeling software"

   Hello,

I am doing some research about the usage of 3D parametric modeling software to design bridges such as Solidworks, Catia, Pro Engineer, Inventor, Revit
Is anyone using any of them for the design and drawings?
anything else? AutoCAD ? Microstation? if yes, is it a 2D or 3D approach?
thanks

Tom
