"Software for Bridge Design"
 
   I'm a senior structural engineer in a private consulting firm. We want to purchase a bridge design software for use in our upcoming bridge design projects. Can anyone help me to find a good software for which can handle design all type of bridges i.e RCC, prestressed, cable stayed/ suspension, arch, steel etc. I 've looked around a bit but cannot decide which will be the best in terms of price & performance. Most software sites do not list the price so I cannot compare features with price.

   I agree, RM2004 is one of the top engineering softwares.
You can find more information on www.tdv.at

You can do composites, grilage, suspension, cable stayed, stage by stage analysis. New moduels are able to performe all sorts of dynamic analyysis ( wind, eartquaes, traffic etc...) The software can even perform detail analysis of plates and shell elements...

   MIDAS just started doing some live online broadcasts introducing the software and providing demos.

Go to <http://en.midasuser.com/training/training_view.asp?idx=70439&bid=74> to see this month's schedule.

I've been to a few and they are pretty informative.
