"R.C.C Semi-Circular Arch Bridge"
 
   Hi
Everyone,
I have to design a R.C.C Semi-Circular non-segmental Arch Bridge over a velly between two hills. The clear span is 5.50m and height 6.75m with an overburden earth cushion of 30.00m on open foundation.
Could it be realistic or possible? Can anyone guide me or give references for design.

   Hello I also have to do a project on arch bridges and the structure. my research question is what is the optimum height vs length of a semi circular bridge?
If any one knows where i can research or has idea all help is welcome.

   A great article about catenary arches can be found at:

Catenaries are the the optimal design for a selfweight-only supported arch. However, the real loading, construction, and geometric contraints for your structure will predicate the optimal design. Not a simple problem to solve to say the least.
